Hello and a warm thank you for signing up to receive my newsletter. This is in fact my first newsletter and I’ve got a couple of exciting things to tell you about.

Firstly, I want to let you know that my new cookbook, co-authored with my good friend and colleague, Peta Mathias, will be released next Friday 7 November. It’s called “Hot Pink Spice Saga” and it’s as exuberant as the title suggests! It’s a culinary travelogue telling of our travels around India and also contains authentic recipes we collected from people we met along the way. And of course it’s packed with lots of colourful photos of amazing India, her people and some fabulous food. I have to say it’s a jolly good read! Look out for Hot Pink Spice Saga in all good bookshops nationwide (or online for those not living in New Zealand).

I’m actually going back to India in a couple of weeks time, so that’s something I’m really looking forward to. I think you’ll understand more about why this country draws me back time and time again when you see Hot Pink Spice Saga. I’m returning to The Lodhi Hotel in New Delhi to continue my work there with training the chefs, exposing them to new trends and international cuisines and helping them increase their repertoire of modern recipes. Last year I was commissioned to help the hotel open an on-site bakery shop and I can’t wait to see how that has progressed one year on. I’ve developed some great new bread recipes that I know will be popular, as well as a wide range of salad recipes, cakes, pastries and desserts. I’ll keep you updated on how it’s going, so stay tuned.
